my very first workshop announcement

When I was looking for the first data-related job in industry in 2019, 95% of my applications end up with rejections, many of them even without interview.

Why?

  • My CV was bad, and even at the good times, when number of opened positions was high, only a few companies were flattered by an applicant with PhD and experience at LHC and invited me to the interview.

  • My first interviews were miserable: I had no idea what to expect and how to prepare for it and just let them surprise me.

Eventually I cracked the system and even got offers from 2 companies. But, you know, it was 2019. Back then "learning by doing" in the job search was ok, because almost every company was looking for some Data expert. Unfortunately in 2024 number of shots you can get is much smaller, so you better come fully prepared.

Here is that I suggest you to do: join "Transition from Academia" camp I will host in July! It's the most affordable option to get a lot of very useful information I wish someone would tell me back in 2019.

If you have research background, please share this post with your network: it costs you nothing, but you can help someone change their life.
