What I get as a Mentor

Want to share with you something that is rather rare mentioned in the lists of "X reasons why you should become a mentor."

You know, as any human being I have ups and downs in my professional life. Sometimes there are days, when I'm very disappointed about myself or how things are going (or not going) at my main job. If I talk with one of my mentees on such a day, I always feel better afterwards. These meetings help me to get distracted from any problem, share my expertise, and get inspiration from the highly motivated person making progress toward her/his goal. People who are seeking mentorship, especially paid mentorship, are very motivated people with an urge to do things most efficiently. It might be challenging (if you have ever worked with a high performer as a manager, you know what I'm talking about). But it's very rewarding.

I would like to thank all my mentees, past and current, for choosing me as their mentor. It's an honor to be part of your professional journey!
